"Supersonic" is the debut single released by English (Manchester) rock band Oasis and written by the lead guitarist Noel Gallagher. The song appears on their debut album Definitely Maybe which was released in August 1994. The song was released on the 11 April 1994 and peaked at number 31 on the UK Singles Charts, and is to date, their lowest peaking single. It was the song performed by the band on their debut national TV performance on Channel 4's The Word. It remains to this day a favourite song of both the band and their fans. The single went silver in the UK in 2006. In spite of its popularity, Gallagher claims the song is basically a collection of nonsense lyrics written in a matter of minutes, just before the band entered the recording studios to record the track. "It was written and recorded in one night in Liverpool. We went in to do a demo on "Bring It On Down" for McGee and a we couldn't´t get it right.. and we had to have something, and I went into that room and wrote "Supersonic" in about half an hour. It was never remixed either." - Noel Gallagher. In late August 2009 Oasis split up, apparently for good, when Noel quit. Noel issued a statement on their website saying: "It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer." This is his version of a Christmas song called "A Soalin'" [sic] written by Peter, Paul and Mary in 1963, which was inspired by a traditional English begging verse from the Middle Ages. A Soul cake is a small round cake which is traditionally made for All Souls' Day (Nov 1) to celebrate the dead. The cakes, often simply referred to as souls, were given out to soulers (mainly consisting of children and the poor) who would go from door to door on Hallowmas singing and saying prayers for the dead. Each cake eaten would represent a soul being freed from Purgatory. The practice of giving and eating soul cakes is often seen as the origin of modern Trick or Treating. The tradition of giving Soul Cakes originated in Britain during the Middle Ages, although similar practices for the souls of the dead were found as far south as Italy. The cakes were usually filled with allspice, nutmeg, cinammon, or other sweet spices, raisins or currants, and later were topped with the mark of a cross. They were traditionally set out with glasses of wine on All Hallows Eve, and on All Saints Day children would go "souling" by calling out: "Soul, Soul, a soul cake! I pray thee, good missus, a soul cake! One for Peter, two for Paul, three for Him what made us all! Soul Cake, soul cake, please good missus, a soul cake. As of October 6, 2009, eleven years had passed since Matthew Shepard was the victim of a violent anti-gay hate crime on the outskirts Laramie, Wyoming. As of October 12, 2009, eleven years had passed since Matthew Shepard succumbed to the atrocious injuries he incurred. At the conclusion of one of his killer's trials on November 4, 1999, Matthew's father, Dennis, delivered this speech in court. This is a partial re-enactment/dramatazation from the actual speech and is an audio excerpt from the 2002 HBO film "The Laramie Project" in which Terry Kinney played the part of Dennis Shepard. And eleven years after this tragic event, on October 28, 2009, President Obama signed The Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Bill into law.

"Dream About Me" is a song by American electronic musician Moby released as the fourth single from his 2005 studio album Hotel. Singer/songwriter and MoveOn cultural director Laura Dawn is featured on lead vocals alongside Moby himself. This music video for the song was produced with cutout animation and begins with a spaceship flying over a major city. The spaceship flies over a sidewalk and deposits its passengers, which appear as small white kittens that are all picked up by pedestrians except for a tabby. The tabby kitten then walks around and experiences the reality of the world, avoiding being stepped on, or almost falling into a storm drain and almost getting run down by cars crossing the street as well as running away from a vicious dog into an alleyway past a poster of Moby. The tabby then goes to sleep and dreams of supposedly its natural origination. The tabby wakes up and then continues walking until it comes across a tree in the sidewalk and climbs it to the top. When it gets to the top, it appears that many spaceships are flying over the city, indicating that the visitors have established their presence.

Developed by Tishman Speyer, 555 Mission is a slick, green-glass 34-story office tower with an adjacent open space dominated by two stunning pieces of art. There are the three gigantic heads that make up Ugo Rondinone's Moonrise Sculptures: March, October, and December. Made out of mottled aluminum, they have a look that crosses the mystical and mysterious Easter Island heads with the big-brained aliens who arrive in the finale of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. They are spaced apart by benches and backed by a wall lined with planter boxes that will eventually form a sea of suspended green foliage. The plaza's centerpiece is Jonathan Borofsky's Human Structures, a galvanized, painted steel installation that stands 36 feet. It is composed of 62 painted steel figures, interconnecting to form five cylindrical towers. According to the artist's Web site, each of the 62 life-size figures is water-jet cut from steel plate, and then each is given its structural folds. Before painting, the figures are galvanized and finally coated with twelve urethane colors. The figures are bolted together hand-to-hand and head-to-toe with a series of multicolored connector plates. Black granite benches and a series of gingko trees complete the plaza, and the end result creatively fulfills the city's open-space requirement for commercial development. Along with the high, glassed-in atrium at 101 Second Street and the striking bamboo forest across the street at 560 Mission, the 555 Mission Plaza provides a nice respite for office workers and tourists alike.
